I agree you should go to a running store - or at least a solid shoe store (not Sports Authority, Dicks, etc.) and request a fitting for shoes. No fee for the fitting.

You still need running shoes. Running shoes are built to correct pronation issues which will save you a lot of pain and injury woes down the line. Go to a specialty running store and get fit. "Cross trainers" are the biggest waste of money.

Getting back to the gym after baby and need advice on shoes.

Currently I'm wearing my old running shoes (which I was fitted for 15 lbs and 3 babies ago when I took up running). I do classes (Zumba, etc.), lift free weights, and run on the treadmill/use the elliptical. Don't need running specific shoes anymore as I don't plan to run more than a few miles, tops, maybe once a week.

What kind of shoes do I need and where do I get them? Feet are wide.
