Zone 6b is hardy to 0 to -5F. Zone 6a is hardy to -5 to -10F.

My gardenias are a little brown, but still look alive. I wrapped them during the worst of the vortex and they're next to the house, though. I didn't wrap my camellia's and they're seriously burned. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I think mine were rated zone 7. Maybe the roots survived?

I walked my planting beds today. I'm hoping its winter burn, otherwise I lost 3 laurels that I just put in front of my house last spring. Happily the clearance sale azaleas I got at Home Depot all seem to be doing ok.

Very tough winter.

I have the same problem with my hardy gardenias. We'll have to see if new leaves appear. Sigh

The leaves just might have winterburn. See if green starts appearing on the stems that flowered. There may be hope.
