You are really overthinking this. Just use a diaper pad and place it over changing table in the bathroom, or on the ground/bench/whatever.

OP, we have the Cruz (and no, you cannot change diapers init easily--I did it once in a pinch but it's a challenge) and an umbrella with a flat recline (which you could theoretically change a diaper in, but we never have). I have only once changed a diaper in the stroller in over two years, though. We have a Skip Hop Pronto changer and just stick that in the basket. There is always someplace where I can lay this down (including public changing tables--inside is protected when it's folded up and I clean that at home), and it's much easier (and easier to clean). So I wouldn't make that a deciding factor at all.

I have changed my baby's diaper in the stroller many times. I've never had to clean up poop or pee off of the stroller. Maybe my kid is just awesome at diaper changes, but I much prefer it to a public changing table.

I would say the most popular diaper changing spot is ... the diaper changing table. In the restroom. Why would you not use this?

Good considerations w/ the timing b/w diaper changes -- makes a big difference to know that, as I have no idea what to expect as far as frequency of changes go. I just always hear that you are changing a baby "all the time" when they are little.

If the changing pad protects any surface, I don't see why it would be a concern with getting a stroller dirty? You can put a changing pad under the baby in the stroller. why is it gross?

I do see the challenge of trying to change in a stroller and it being too tight though...good point....esp. if you have a wriggly baby.

I'm actually relieved to know that there is a possibility of a 2 hours stretch without a diaper change needed with a 2 month old. I can probably just run and errand and be done in that time.

Because if you have a boy, they pee up in the air and any baby could get poop on the sides of the stroller that are not covered by a pad. Really, diaper changing is not that serious - I think you're freaking yourself about unnecessarily. Just put a pad on the public changing table and make things easy for yourself.

Get a Patemm Pad-- regularly priced, it's $50 but there are "sample" sales where they are only $20. It's a huge diaper pad that's a circle. It's sort of genius. You can put it on top of a diaper changing table if you are really grossed out by it. Or you can change on the floor.

I too have a UB Vista and never changed a diaper in it.

This is so true, and something I never realized before having kids. Unless they poop, I usually go about 2 hours between diaper changes and honestly longer if we're out and about. And they don't poop as often as you think, at least not after the early newborn days. By the time you are ready to have your baby out for hours at a time you will have a fairly good idea of whether to expect a poop or not and you will plan accordingly.

I've never changed a diaper in the stroller, and I have a stroller that lies almost flat. If you're talking about outdoors I suppose I can see why you would do it, but it would be pretty gross to do it in an indoor location like a store or something. But really, I just think it would be awkward and difficult. Get a nice big cushy waterproof changing pad and you can change the kid anywhere.

I think you will find that you don't do this. Any stroller confines your movements too much. We have the Uppababy Vista and I have contemplated changing a diaper in it a few times and always end up taking the pad from the diaper bag and finding a flat surface or putting it on the ground. Once the baby is big enough to wiggle and roll, there is no way that a stroller change is going to work.

Yes, that instance would be an example exception to changing in a stroller, as I mentioned in my original post - a major blowout.

And yes, all of the strollers I am considering would be easy to clean. At least that is what reviews say. What do I know?? I've never had to deal with it yet. That is why I'm asking BTDT moms.

So my question is

1. Does anyone change diapers in the uppababy cruz easily (Model: http://uppababy.com/cruz/overview)

2. How many others use their strollers when in public malls, parks, etc. to change diapers *discreetly*, or is it poor manners.

Thanks in advance!

And what will you do if baby has a blow-out or pees all over your stroller? Is it easy to clean?

Has anyone successfully changed a baby's diaper in the Uppababy Cruz seat, the one with the 90-degree angle? It seems like its impossible to do without being very messy.

I am down to 3 top stroller options, and whether or not I can change a baby's diaper in the stroller is weighing heavily into my decision of which one to pick.
I cringe at the idea of using a public changing table. I don't mind using my car if I have to, or if I absolutely had to use a public restroom I would. It just seems like if you are already rolling a baby along, unless it is a major blow out, wouldn't it be so much easier to find a quiet private corner off to the side, lay the seat down, and change baby on a diaper pad, instead of going into a restroom or running to a car trunk? Or is changing in a stroller (discreetly) a no-no?
