And Ritz Carlton will not even accept Marriott Rewards points.

PP - not true. You get a discount off the price but that's it.

I interviewed there and the hr person told me you can get rooms at their hotels and resorts for next to nothing. This includes Ritz Carltons. Wish I had gotten that job....

It can be very political, but generally it's a decent place to work. Great cafeteria, on site child care, etc.

I don't see any comp that high in online searches, but who knows? Surprising more people don't know about HQ first-hand.

I'm trying to also get in on a director level job. Op any insights on comp? I'm thinking it's in the $250ish range?

I know a female who works there in a fairly high up position. She is very talented, and had been treated VERY well by Marriott.

If you are white and a male, you are quite set!

Thanks for the responses so far. Anyone else? On Glass Door the reviews seem very mixed. This would be for a director-level position.

I don't know about HQ but I know at least six people who work for the company in various locations/capacities and all are very happy. I've been tracking opportunities with them since last spring with the hope something will open in my field. I work for a well regarded federal consulting company and would jump to Marriott in a second given the opportunity.

I worked there almost 20 years ago so my info is very dated. The company was pretty button down corporate back then - both Marriott brothers were still there - I think the older one has retired and the younger one didn't work much. People were pretty nice, bland, and there were lots of Mormons working there. The HQ had a nice cafeteria, gift store, impossible to gain access daycare, gym, banking, dry cleaning etc all there so you didn't have to leave. It was easy to walk over a bridge to Montgomery Mall though to get out. Pretty average benefits, pay raises were very big, not sure about how promotions went as I was in a unique position and worked closely with Mr. Marriott and corporate relations dept. I still have the stock I bought. It's pretty bureaucratic because of the size (worldwide). Much could have changed since then but I kind of doubt it as it's a pretty conservative place politically and as a work environment.

Is anyone familiar with Marriott? I saw what looks like an ideal opportunity in my field posted online today. I've been with one firm since 2000 and am feeling a little itchy. Have looked off and on for the last couple of years but this is the first listing that really intrigues me and feels like a true match. Would appreciate any insight into Marriott as an employer and the Bethesda HQ specifically. Thanks!
