I've been a recruiter and a hiring manager. This really isn't a big deal and is not uncommon. Do NOT tell before offer, though. After offer, they're already in love with you.

I had a similar issue, and told them after they gave me the offer but before accepting it. My new manager was happy to accommodate me.

Don't do it until first offer is on table. If you're then going to negotiate for different terms (are you asking for more vacation?) then that's your counteroffer. Employer can then say it won't work for them.
