I'm poster 15:49 who suggested a couple of nail salons - to be clear, I think a spa party at a community center would be fine. In fact, possibly preferable to a nail salon bc you could do other treatments than just nails. Assuming you'll get tables and chairs with the room rentals, you could set up a manicure area (I'd team the girls in pairs and give each pair a manicure "set" with a bowl to soak hands, lotion, oil for cuticles, and lots of polish colors, and have each pair do each other's nails), pedicure area, a "skin care" area (have a bunch of scented lotions for the girls to rub on), have pitchers of punch with fruit, little tea sandwiches and petit fours or french macaroons. Could be very fun but honestly once you've bought spa tools for the group, it may be cheaper to do this in a nail salon.

Girls don't need a ton of space, unless it's a sleepover. When I have 12 girls over they all hang out in one or two rooms even though we have a lot of space. Going to a nail salon sound expensive to me.

I'm not in Maryland, but I know a couple of nail salons who book parties after-hours or even have a separate room where you can bring in cake, etc. Do a Google search for such a place near you.

My daughter wants a spa party in April for her 9th birthday. Having the party at home isn't doable as we don't have a lot of space. Would a community center be an appropriate location to hold this type of party? We're in Montgomery county.
