Thanks everyone for the great ideas. We are going to have to put off our trip for a few weeks. Now hoping to do this mid March.

Homeaway has some nice cabin options. Most do require 2 nights on the weekend however.

We really like Rose River Farm and they do allow one night rentals. They are located about half an hour before you get to Charlottesville right by Old Rag Mountain. Lots of wineries in the area and really pretty views. http://www.roseriverfarm.com/accommodations.html

Check out Berkeley Springs on VRBO, there are a few options on there. Was just there the other weekend, under 2 hours from Silver Spring.

I have rented a cabin from here before. I believe they have a 2 night min. The cabins are mostly around Luray/Shenandoah area.

Looking to get away to the mountains (thinking Virginia or MD) for this Saturday night. Do not want to drive more than 2 hours. Are there any nice cabins anyone knows of that let you just rent one night on the weekend?
