Unable to keep her news to herself for just a few minutes more, until after she focused everything on OP. You know how kids will interrupt you in the middle of a conversation just to share something that is of great importance to them? This is how the SIL acted.
OP, on the other hand, is acting like a teenager. She's upset that everyone isn't focused on her 100% and now wants everyone at the lunch table to agree with her. "Oh no she didn't!?!"
