I love the fact that the exclamation point is in their name. Every time my kids and I drive past there (which is often), we all yell, "Cupcakes!" They do make good cupcake, though (we went there one time).

pie gourment is very good but expensive , they know they are the best and it will cost you.

Silvia's Patisserie! My company uses them for very fancy desserts for all of our client appreciation parties.

I don't care for Amphora and I'm not impressed with Pie Gourmet pies (dessert or savory).

I'd try Sweet City and Silva's.

^^ I do recall Sweet City being pricier than Pie Gourmet, though (I had a groupon or living social or some other coupon when I went there).

I love Pie Gourmet, but I've been disappointed with Amphora bakery in recent years. Not as good as they were in my youth.

I also recommend Sweet City Desserts, between 123 and Church Street. I bought some treats there and took them into the office, and they were a big hit.

Is te Amphora still out there? Used to be pretty good for cakes...

Can you recommend a good quality bakery near the Vienna/Tyson's Corner/McLean area for cakes, macaroons, etc.? Something equivalent to Praline and Tout de Sweet in Bethesda or Stella's in Rockville. Thanks!
