Do a bunch of salads, breads and cookies. It might be a little more than $500 but it's tough to get below $10/person if you are ordering everything.

Who said hosts have to cook a thing? That doesn't even make sense.

It's common sense unless someone else is springing for catering. Or maybe this is the adult version of the kid's party when (adult) guests are not served any food or drink (sort of like the last lunchtime party that my DS was invited to which had an invitation that specified that food and drink would be served to kids and adults and adults were not even offered a bottle of water let alone food).

Empanadas? http://panasgourmet.com

You can do savory and sweet. And a light salad.

You can order things like these. Chicken Salad goes well on croissants. I'd also do a sliced ham with rolls, cheese tray, tortellini salad, and something for the vegetarians. I think Wegmans and Costco are your go to places.

Alternatively, if you don't mind warming things up, you'll have more options like lasagna, etc.

I don't think I have one...until I get to the point that I just think it's too much...I have no idea.

Well, inexpensive would be maybe $10 a head, right? So, $500? Sound about right?

That sounds inexpensive, so I could deal with $500 no prob.

Post 02/17/2014 19:18     Subject: Need to 50 women a light lunch

I'm hosting a baby shower with about 50 women attending. I mentioned that a light lunch would be served and I don't want to cook. Can you help me with suggestions of trays to order? I looked at Whole Foods but it is too expensive. Wegmans could be an option. I'm open to anything.

Thanks.
