My DS's tics were worst when he was watching tv, riding in the car, or listening to stories - in other words, when he was totally relaxed.

My 5 yr old DD has developed motor tics (mostly of the face - blinking, eyebrow raising, grimacing) over the past three weeks. My husband has Tourette's so we're pretty worried. DH found some blog that said tv is a trigger for tics and he wants to ban tv entirely - our kids watch 20-40 minutes a day, so it's not a huge amount. My understanding is that tics come out during television watching bc the person is entirely relaxed, but DH thinks there is a causal relationship.

Any thoughts on which one of us is correct?
