I'm facing a similar question with about 15 years of experience and trying to work into upper management at a medium sized company.

Only do it if you are doing well in your career. Otherwise it is a waste. Although I don't think it would be easy to get into a decent executive MBA program (by that I mean they have a decent regular MBA program) if you aren't already doing well in your career and your company is backing you.

I don't think employers care either way. Typically the executive programs are more expensive than the regular evening programs, so you will need to be the judge of whether the extra expense (and smaller time commitment, I think) is worth it.

If you consider traditional evening programs, Johns Hopkins, UMD, Georgetown, GW and American have good ones in DC, and VT and GMU have them in VA. I did the evening program at UMD in the Reagan Building and thought it was great.

if you are well into your career, i imagine it won't make much of a difference.

I am well into my career, but was thinking about going ahead and getting the MBA just for me.

Do employers judge and executive MBA v. a traditional MBA differently?

Was thinking about applying to the Cornell Program in DC.
