I LOVE her lyrics. Then again, I am a teenage dream

I'd worry about having to explain those lyrics.

9 years old is more than an appropriate time to explain "those lyrics."

DH and I went to a Katy Perry concert in LA a year ago. There were some kids there.

I have a 9 and 11 y.o. and I thought it was really inappropriate--the lyrics to her songs, with a few exceptions, are just way too sexual. And she's really into to the adult-as-little-girl-as-sex-toy outfits, and licking lollypops and candy, etc., which is creepy when you think of exposing your DD to it.

That being said, she really puts on a show. Bring earplugs. DD can hide them with her hair.

Katie Perry or Taylor Swift? Sure.

Skanks like Miley Cyrus, nope.

I think my husband would like to take my boys to a Katy Perry concert...I think they share a mutual crush on her...especially after her duet with Elmo where she was falling out of her dress. They were glued to the TV when she performed at the Grammys. I'm just glad to see like the women of healthy weight---not sticks!

Loved that! OP, definitely watch that movie to get an idea of what to expect. If you have premium cable channels, it was on OnDemand recently. I'm sure you can rent it from Netflix, too.

I think maybe 9 or 10, but I am not taking my just turned 6 and 8 year olds. I was looking for an Austin and Ally concert for them, but they are just in Canada.

Serious question - I don't have a sense about whether her concerts are more for the pre-teen/teen crowd or more for adults. Does anyone know?
