NP...How does the curriculum differ at Janney?

Does anyone know the % of graduating students that go on to Deal?

OP - Do a tour, read about the curriculum (which is not the same as DCPS), browse the website, talk to other parents, and check out the teacher's websites to find out what is going on in the classrooms on a day-to-day basis.

me again from 20:47, thanks again for the posting. i think we'll likely have to move either into Janney once kids in elementary.

PP- yes, we were surprised by how quickly these increases added up even just after a few years in elementary school. When we projected how much middle and high school was likely to cost we knew it was definitely out of reach for us.

OP --I have considered pvt for the future and had not thought seriously about tuition hikes, I guess you have to have a big cushion to really afford pvt.

Hi PP- reason for leaving private is tuition hikes over the past number of years are outpacing our salaries. No other reason than finances. Of course this is difficult because I'm relatively new to DC and our only contacts are with the current school. I appreciate the feedback from the current parent.

Why are you leaving a private? Curious- how many new 1st graders are added - and the transition for a child who does not know many of the kids that have been together. We are considering doing a private for k and then entering Janney in 1st also (because of our current housing /locale) and ability or lack of ability to move for another year into Janney!

Janney parent here. The place is great. The teachers are wonderful. The experience for my family has been beyond compare. There is support for any issue or concern you may have as your kids grow and develop. There are countless conversations about the school here. Just search the archives for Janney. But, I think the best source are actual people you can see and talk to. There must be many on your block if you are IB. Ask around.

Hello, are there any current Janney parents out there who could share there experiences with the school? We are inbound and my DD will be in 1st grade. I have toward the school and the facilities are certainly beautiful. But I wonder if anyone can share their experiences with the quality of teachers, curriculum, extra curricular activities etc.
