Also in MOCO, several high schools have what is called "child development lab" or something along those lines. It is a program where high school students learn basic skills of working with preschool age kids. There is a teacher that overseas the program and is the main teacher of the class. Not sure where you live but Clarksburgh HS, Watkins Mill HS, Gaithersburg HS, Magruder, Rockville, Quince Orchard and quite a few more. I believe it is 600 for the year and the classes are usually 4 days a week for about 3 or so hours.

15:23 here--second the recommendation for PEP Pilot, and I'm a Pre K teacher. It's only two half-days a week though, which might be "enough" if your child is headed for kindergarten the next year. But it's definitely worth looking into. This is my school's 3rd year with it and it has grown in popularity as word of mouth spreads among parents.

But for regular Pre K/Head Start, the thresh hold is definitely qualification for FARMs. All of the students are served school lunch in the classroom.

It depends on how many people are in your family. Last time I looked into it, for 2-3 kids in a family I believe it was aound $40,000 but I could be wrong. It was atleast in the neighborhood of that amount, though. When I inquired to a teacher, she said that the families are notified if they qualify- maybe because they might be involved in other govt programs.
A good low cost alternative is Pep 'Pilot'. Your child can be a community typical peer student and pay a low tuition for age 3 & 4 preschool years at select schools. Admission given to local kids first, then open to kids out of boundary. I am sure we are over it but does anyone know what the income level is for your child to get into pre K in Moco? I have looked online but can only find it saying child must be 4 by Sept 1st and income eligible, cant find anywhere where it says what that is though.
