We moved to the Rockledge neighborhood especially for the school which is also a blue ribbon school. We only moved my son because he got into Heather Hills (TAG id). Btw, Heather Hills is no longer a neighborhood school so your child can only attend if TAG id and you are lucky enough to get picked in the lottery.

That said, schools need good involved families for things to improve so if you're willing to be part of the change I doubt it's an awful school. You can certainly do better in Bowie, though.
Agree with the previous posters. Look in North Bowie. Whitehall is arguably the best school in the county, a blue ribbon school. And it feeds into Samuel Ogle.
Tulip Grove is a nice little school with involved parents but you will end up at Tasker. I've heard things are better at Tasker with the arrival of a new principal, but still -- not somewhere I'd want my kids.

Looking at houses, and wondering about Pointer Ridge Elementary and Tasker middle school. I've seen a few opinions on Tasker on this forum, but haven't seen anything about Pointer Ridge.
