I live in S. Arlington and have ZERO concerns about my kids' ability to be prepared for a top school, supported in getting into said school, and having a large peer group of kids who are also planning to go to competitive schools. It is just a NON ISSUE and I'm so tired of stupid DCUM trolls acting like Wakefield is the Black Hole of Calcutta.


There's not a large peer group of kids going to top schools from Wakefield. This is total rubbish.

I've been very happy with Kenmore for my kids. They've had great teachers and the arts focus has been a big bonus. My son (now in 9th) was well prepared for high school. If you have concerns, visit the school. We visited before we bought the house and were really impressed.

So, when you are out and about in Arlington, and you encounter children from another pyramid, do you assume that all of their parents are awful people for making different choices than you did? Or don't you let your children participate in any activities where the riffraff might show up?

A fairly decent number of kids at Kenmore will go on to W-L, which most people agree is a very strong high school.


Swanson, Williamsburg, Kenmore and TJ ALL have a population of kids that will naturally feed into W-L.

I know people with kids at Kenmore, and they are happy with the education their children are getting. Some are zoned for W-L for high school. Jefferson is also an option for some of those neighborhoods. We've been very happy with Jefferson. It is also considered "undesirable" by some. Both Kenmore and Jefferson have a lot of English learners, but this has had no negative impact on my son's education at all.

(Arlington Forest is a very nice neighborhood, if that's where you are looking)

We're looking at a house that is zoned for good elementary and secondary schools, but also for Kenmore middle school. Is it as bad as the test scores make it seem?
