How do you think credit card companies make money?

Do any credit cards do 0% beyond a balance transfer or introductory period?

Just curious -- is there a reason why the cards that you have now won't work for you?

To answer your question: I've been thinking about getting the American Express Blue Cash Preferred card, because it gives you 6 percent back on groceries and 3 percent back on gas. It's not 0 percent interest but since you'll no longer be carrying a balance (right???) that shouldn't be a problem for you.

I just made my very last credit card payment! I've had a balance on 2 credit cards for years due to underemployment and medical bills not paid for by my insurance. Now that I can choose a new credit card, here's what I am looking for:

1) a card with 0% interest if possible
2) a card with no annual fee
3) a card with some type of cash back deal. I don't travel much so one with free miles, etc wouldn't interest me.

I am making enough money that I don't have to use a credit card but I'd like to have one for larger purchases.
