This might be a question that only MCPS teachers can answer. I have a teacher telling me she thinks my son is Proficient in a subject, but his grades averaged to an I because there were only two assignments that the grades were averaged from, neither on paper. The first assignment was before they mastered the topic and was an I and the other was a P. She said the computer averages an I and a P as an I. Can a teacher override the computer average if she thinks the student was proficient by the end of the marking period? It doesn't make sense to me on a number of levels.
