Why can't MCPS have regular algebra I and II, and keep this new course if they want to, but change the name because it crealy covers much more than algebra.

this is us. Just had this conversation with DD yesterday. Can not understand HOW in the world we can help her when they don't follow the text. she uses that damn Glencoe book as a door stop, water bottle coaster and dust collector.

I am so angry that we have to put up with this!! now I have to pay a freaking tutor to figure it all out. WTH!

My child was in Algebra I last year, and there definitely was a textbook. The class skipped around in it a bit, but it was still clearly the framework for the course.

There are really no textbooks under C2.0, at least not yet.

My kids have never had a book even before 2.0 or at least one that they really followed.

Any word on when they will be providing students with textbooks? Next year perhaps?

The new algebra 2.0 is quite different from the regular algebra taught until last year.
Are there schools using textbooks? We are not.

I don't understand what you're trying to say.

Why is Algebra more like statistics, business math and geometry? Parts of the algebra 1 is being taught in algebra II and even precalculus in many books. I have not found any books that teach the things covered in Algebra 2.0.

Any other parent of this opinion?
