A lot of preservatives and stuff, but I can think of worse things.

I worry about the hot plastic releasing toxins and endocrine disrupters into the food. Often the plastic tray is kind of soft and pliable from the heat. If the obesity epidemic turns out to be connected to so called "obesogens" we may be rethinking all the plastics exposure we currently get.

I don't think that's possible -- each chicken weighs however much it weighs and might have more or less fat on it, so there's no way they can know with any precision what a particular chicken's caloric content it.

The biggest factor influencing calories is probably the amount of butter or oil they add.

A bunch of online sources say a 3 oz. serving has 160 calories, but I have no idea how they calculated that. (Light or dark meat? With or without skin?)

Read the ingredients--it's not just chicken, salt and pepper.

Well, Bell & Evans chickens are easily available and not too pricey. Smaller than the Costco chickens though.

I don't see any reason to think a costco pre-cooked chicken is any less healthy than an uncooked supermarket chicken, which is also bred, modified, drugged, etc. unless you're choosing between Costco and Polyfacr Farms, I don't see what the difference is.

What is a crockery score? And yes, the Costco rotisserie chickens are as far from free-range non-factory-farm chickens as you can get. What is your position on those things?

I purchased the Costco chicken once. Yes, it was delicious, but it was also HUGE. All I could think about was how many growth hormones must've been pumped into it to get so huge. I felt like I was eating roast growth hormones.

Someone, please tell me I'm wrong. I'd love to buy it again.

They sit in plastic under those heat lamps. They look toxic.
