I get that. But when you fill in turbotax for premiums paid it says you cannot put amount paid to government. Its not true tricare its an extension.

Again, you need evidence you made the payments.

So, if you earn $40,000 a year and the premiums cost $6,000, you can deduct $2,000 of it. That would represent a tax savings of around $300 to you.

if it's over 10% of your adjusted gross income i think you can just claim it as a deduction, provided you have documentation. otherwise I think you can't

Chcpb is a paid for version of tricare for people who lost tricare. Aged out or other reasons. I want to claim the premiums and money I paid out like 6000 a year. I don't get a sa1099 though. Any ideas.
