Sorry to hear this, OP. What other symptoms led to the diagnosis? Did they appear at the same time with the mispronunciation, or had they been apparent before?

So in our case it was some sort of regression that along with other symptoms led to her diagnosis.

As kids are getting ready for a developmental leap, you will often see a regression. It's like their brains are on overload as they preparing for the leap. It's common for parents to start to see stuttering at this age. Do a search here on DCUM, and you will find many posts of toddler parents sharing how their child is suddenly stuttering or mispronouncing words. And then it's fine.

I think it's probably a matter of her tongue and lips getting mixed up as she moves from one word to another and puts it all together. She can say the words, but saying them while also managing to combine them with other words is still too much because she's 2.

I would guess, based on my experience with other kids, that this will sort itself out as she gets more practice with phrases and sentences.

Is she imitating someone?

My daughter is doing the same thing and it is definitely not for attention. She's 22mo and all of a sudden there are certain words she just doesn't pronounce correctly. She too, can say 3-4 word sentences, but now it seems when she tries to speak quickly or blurts something out, the words come out wrong. 'Toney' is money, etc. Not sure if this is normal?

This sounds more deliberate and for attention. I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably just a phase.

Has anyone had this happen? My child started talking at 11 months and has made progress to the point where she can say 3-4 word sentences. However, these are very scripted, and lately she mispronounces words in those sentences. If she says the word in isolation, she pronounces it correctly, but in a sentence, it's consistently wrong, she usually leaves something out or adds something. (E.g.: Oh no, foode all gon" "I want bawtus" (bottle)") She is 26 months old.
