Modern Mobler specializes in Danish Modern. Very nice stuff, but not always a huge bargain.

Do you have any you particularly like? If it helps, I lean toward Art Deco and Traditional with clean lines (not ornate, but beautiful, rich woods)

Lots of good consignment options in the area. Miss Pixie's was mentioned, there's Capitol Consignment in Bethesda, Sage Consignment in Kensington, and others, I'm sure. Also check out Antiques Row in Kensington more generally.

Baltimore has some great thrift stores for used furniture - they post on the Baltimore craigslist. Seriously, the difference in price, for still excellent quality and recognizable brands, is worth the drive (especially if you are in DC or MD).

You sound uneducated and ignorant. Like the type of person who would live in a far out exurb because they couldn't handle the thought of not living in a "used" house. I've found excellent used furniture via estate sales, Craigslist, and thrift shops.

Love second hand furniture. Check out estate sales. There are a lot of good deals if you can wait until the last day of the sale.

Craigslist, Miss Pixies, just about any nice consignment store. And I love me some Ikea, but I suspect the poster above is just trying to stir up trouble. There's nothing gross about used wooden furniture.
