Mundo Verde sucks. Don't anyone rank them on your list. Flee. NO DATA, the administration is probably impossible and clueless.

The new building will probably be just as bad...

Not to mention that drug ridden, filthy neighborhood (I don't care how much the houses cost and that homeless shelter/soup kitchen around the corner.

Interesting. I went to the first open house and they were not together, sound was not together, technical issues, hard to hear, etc. They blamed it on the fact that it was the first open house. However, I went to the open house last year and there were the same issues. Nothing was new this year, they showed the same video, etc. so how come they still don't have things together???

I think that the location of the open houses causes serious problems for Mundo Verde right now. The current location can hold the kids, but is really terrible for all events involving parents. That basement open area is terrible for noise, and it makes it very difficult to hear anyone or get a sense of community. Moreover, as the school has outgrown the space, that area is used for way too many things.

Try not to let that hinder your thoughts as that will change dramatically next year. One of the best things about the new building is the gorgeous auditorium that will be configured to handle just these types of events perfectly. Finding such a space was extremely important to Mundo Verde as they have a ton of parent-included events, including group parent teacher meetings and quarterly presentations by the kids. But for the next few months, the school has to live with what it has, which is no area that is conducive to pretty presentations.

Not PP, but haven't you been to any open houses where you were excited about the prospect of sending your kids there? Could be a combination of facilities, curriculum, energy, parent involvement, and so on. I didn't attend the MV open house, though I have been to plenty, but I think I know what OP means. Like at the education expo, I think some schools know they really need to drum up interest and some don't seem like they're putting in much effort. It's understandable for many reasons, but parents do notice.

But what actual data is there about mundo verde?? Nada. I felt the same re open house and though I myself am a liberal Democrat thought the whole sustainability thing could get old fast.

Mundo Verde is spread too thin. IT has a focused concept. Stokes has history in its programs. Mundo Verde is "let's check every box for young urban Democrats."

I was there too, and felt the same. It was packed and difficult to hear the presentation. Didn't like the basement location (though realize that it would change) and felt concerned that it would be a very tough transition for my soon to be kindergartener because of the language.
