These deals seem great but they are for the cheapest crap. You end up paying more to upgrade and then the price is the same or more than what you would've paid someone to be begin with.

If you look at the ad, they are six inch cans. You can get them fairly cheaply if they are not rated for insulation (many don't need it but I prefer them for the extra safety). They generally run $10-15 each for basic lights. I prefer 4 inch lights but even so $50 per light install is reasonable depending on their up charges.

a good electrician is not going to have to repair the drywall,. A good one cuts where they have to and the size they have to cut.

OP here. I'm in Baltimore, which is probably why you're not seeing it. There is a light switch already. But the deal does not include drywall repair.

Yes this is a good deal but like PPs said, there's more to it than just installing the light. You will need to patch the ceiling where they install it, so you will need to do it yourself or line up a painter to fix it. Also, is there already a light switch?

sounds good but a lot of these deals are loss leaders for the company and they make money on add ons etc. for this i am sure the yiwl have to add a circuit and that costs more, they will have to change this and that add a switch etc.

That's a good deal. I think I paid $140 per light.
