It is true... Fast Gourmet... but I think they moved downtown (the original sandwich maker guys). Google it.

Also try Mi Cuba on Park Road in Columbia Hts. Four and a half stars on Yelp.

Fast Gourmets original owner is still in, his old partner wanted out so he was bought out. That new joint does guys opened is showing signs of mayor failure.

My coworker swears by Sophie's Cuban in Dupont, although I haven't been there myself.

It's in Silver spring, but I had a great one at Cubano's.

I love the Caribbean grill (near my house), but have never had the sandwich there. Their other food is good, but my friend said their "jerk" chicken is nowhere near authentic.

Also had one at the Bean Counter in Georgetown. I'm not an expert on the Cuban sandwich, though, so I can't tell you if it's as good as something you'd get in Miami (or Havana…), but I liked it!

yep, Fast Gourmet.

Earl's in Arlington does a decent one, too.

Or try Cuba de Ayer up in Burtonsville.

There's that Caribbean place on Lee Highway in Arlington. I cannot vouch for it's authenticity, and it's not in DC, but if he really needs a fix...

Transplanted Miamian needs his Cuban fix. Is it at all possible to meet this need in DC?
