Yeah, easier said and thought about than done. Dh wants to take an overnight trip to NYC just the two of us. It'll be the first time not seeing my 1 year old for an entire day/night and I'm anxious over it. I can't imagine you'd want to be away for 2 weeks.

No. Like another PP, not because I think it's wrong, but because I just couldn't do it for that long. I'm going to be away from my 13 month old for four nights in a few weeks (business trip) and that's going to be tough. About a week is the max I think I could handle at this point in his life.

Could you go on just part of the trip with your friends?

OP here - I stay at home with my girls so to be gone will greatly change the dynamic. I'm not even sure I can get someone to help for that long.

No - not because I think it is wrong or something in those lines. But I remember when my daughter was a baby and I couldn't physically be away from her that long - not even overnight. I am super laid back, but I just needed to be around her. Now she is four and of course I don't feel the same way anymore.

OP here. I'd like to think I could just take off but I think I'd be a mess emotionally and physically. I'd have to pump to keep upy supply. I've already been to Thailand and visited all the sights. I'd like the girl time and memories but don't think I would really enjoy it. It's sad but I'm just at a different place in my family life.

That's just me, I'm very unwilling to spend any more time away from DC than my job requires. Voluntary travel away from DC isn't something I would consider right now.

I left my 10 month old for 10 days for a work trip and that was difficult. He looked at me like he had no idea who I was when I first got back, but rebounded quickly. I don't think I'd do it for a pleasure trip.

No, I would not. I had a very tough time leaving my 14 month old for three nights.

Friends are planning a girls trip to Thailand in several months. DCs will be 3 yo and 10 months old. Most concerned leaving the latter since I plan to breastfeed for the first year. Assuming those details are resolved, would you leave for 2 weeks? I'm really torn.
