Look at it this way: if you invest every pay period, your next 'purchase' will buy more stocks (due to their temporarily lower price).

Yes, everyone has been effected.

It was bound to happen as the market has been in bull territory for a year. Frankly we needed this correction! Relax though. markets go and down, just stay the course. This wont be a banner year like 2013 but it will still be a healthy market. Most people have long-tern money in the market. If you have rainy day money there, you should think about diversifying.
