Can we also talk about the parents (Craig Nelson and wife). Do you see her leaving him? She is certainly moving away from him emotionally.

If it was really nothing she should've told him after it happened- not after your friend drunkenly heckled your husband and your drunk husband decked him at a school fundraiser. You just made your husband look like an ass.

I agree with you OP. Too big a consequence, with too little story development. I am getting really sick of seeing his almost, but not quite, teary eyed expression, too.

On another note, is Hattie completely off this show now? I keep waiting for them to say something about their 2 kids, to be sure.

I wonder if Joel is being written off the show. A bit like haddie. The storyline is befuddling. It moved so fast and Joel's stony silence this whole season has been strange. Maybe he's just bitter about when Julia worked and maybe he felt neglected? So now he's giving her a taste of how he felt during that time and the kiss pushed him over the top.

From my perspective; it felt like Joel was looking for an excuse to leave the marriage. He is not happy with his wife (Julia?) since she quit her job with out discussing it with him first. Y

This plot line went from 0 to 60 with no development..also why hasn't Julia told anyone in her family what is going on?

story line doesn't make a lick of sense. he is acting out of character and it threatens the integrity of the show.

Didn't in the first season some school mom kiss him?

It makes as much sense as him throwing a fit because the kid he just adopted was a little behind in school and had to be held back a year.

Does anyone understand this plot line? Why is he moving out? Some other guy kissed her - I get that, she shouldnt have let it happen, but he is not even willing to work on it??? There doesnt seem to be an end game here and he doesnt even want to try. I think its terrible and would be really sad if a marriage really broke up like this with no development or therapy or discussion.
