I used to think I didn't like gin, but then I tried Hendricks.

Frozen palomas.

Pick up some tequila, orange liqueur, and grapefruit juice.

Mix it like a margarita (a paloma is just a margarita with grapefruit subbed for lime), then put it in a shallow pan, cover with plastic wrap (to avoid picking up freezer flavor), and freeze it.

It has alcohol so it won't freeze all the way, it will just get slushy. Depending on how slushy, you can either scrape/spoon it into glasses, or if it's harder than that, blend it just a bit, to the consistency of a frozen margarita.

You probably don't have margarita glasses, so use heavy tumblers--maybe DH's scotch glasses. Pour coarse salt on a plate. Add just a pinch of sugar. Wet the rim of each glass with a squeeze of citrus or just a bit of the grapefruit juice, and salt the rim. Serve it up.

Yuck. Call someone and ask them to pick up some tequila and margarita mix on the way.

I love gin, but I second the recommendation to hit up the liquor store on your way home. Here's what I would make to keep the night fun, and on theme:

Oooh,

Run up to ABC and pick up some Patron, or at least pre-mixed margaritas.

Gin is vile.

Coupled with Mexican food sounds vomit inducing.

I love gin but most people think I am crazy and will not touch the stuff. You need another option.

I would go to the store and have a second drink option. Not a gin fan.

Gimlets? They're sweet with lime.

Bandolero serves a drink that's just gin, lemon and honey syrup. Sounds light enough to go with just about anything.

Is there such a thing? Having ladies over tonight for a Mexican fiesta and I realize all I have is green hat gin. I'd love to get creative!
Any ideAs?
