Not necessary, just keep good records of your income and expenses and remember to pay your estimated taxes on time (and keep proof of it).

Get turbotax premier or home office and let it guide you. I'm a 1099 and have multiple rentals....never have to hire a tax guy to do my returns.

There isn't really that much to it. The IRS website can guide you. The most important thing to do is calculate your quarterly taxes and file them on time so you don't get bit in the behind come April of next year.
