If the tutor knows the child's academic potential the best, I don't see why not. i think it is a good idea, and two tutors is even better.

coaches, piano teachers, etc.---you are paying them too, so I don't see the difference between tutors.

I gave my LOR people the parent form and asked them to write and LOR using the buzz words from the form.

Unless the tutor is in something not covered in school, like Russian or Chinese, I would not think it would be helpful.

Why on earth does your second grader need TWO tutors?

If she finds second grade work that difficult then you should be looking into remedial programs, not AAP.

A coach of an academic or sports team, a troop leader, a (private lessons) music teacher, a youth group leader, etc.

Using tutors is probably not something to advertise when applying to AAP. If you are needing/using tutors, then perhaps AAP is not a fit for your child.

Most people don't want the AAP committee to know their child goes to a tutor. They like it to appear that the child is naturally smart.

That said, anyone can write a letter.
