Yes, MCPS. It is really bad. I thought there was a specific curriculum that MCPS had to follow, but all I see are worksheets from free websites with no continuity in content, teaching style, progression of difficulty, etc. What can be done about this? I thought MCPS was supposedly a model to the nation? In what area exactly because what I see does not impress me in any way.

My daughter's math teacher told me that the curriculum is being written at a high level semester by semester. They are not following textbook. This is 7th grade Algebra.

My 6th grader seems to be learning math from random worksheets, many appearing to be downloaded from the web, not a coherent textbook approach. Can someone explain if this is effective? Do 7th and 8th grades follow a textbook?
