Yes. Lots.

The PS-8 Education Campuses like West, Brightwood, Walker-Jones, and Francis Stevens were there. I can't recall seeing any of the stand-alone ES's, but per the Post article that came out tonight, John Davis says he thinks that DCPS's ES's should show up next year.

Ha no that definitely wasn't us. I've found my DH is surprisingly opinionated based on the couple of open houses we've attended. I was really interested in what kind of vibe he got seeing the schools all at once.

I was impressed with Inspired Teaching. The parents seemed genuinely happy to he part of the school. One parent spent about 20 minutes answering all my questions.

Aww that's too bad. Well kudos to their preschool teacher and volunteers at the expo. I gave DH a list of schools to check out (the usual suspects) and asked him to look at any others that caught his eye. Their presentation skills really impressed my husband.

Interesting, I won't ask which school. But, why?

I liked the schools that had stuff out for the kids. MV, shining stars, IT for example.

My DH went. He said he enjoyed speaking with the rep from Two Rivers and a school called Lighthouse Academy (never heard of it before). He liked that Lighthouse had a teacher there to speak about the curriculum and she seemed really enthusiastic.

I enjoyed meeting with Two Rivers, LAMB, Inspired Teaching, Shining Stars & Creative Minds. All the volunteers (parents, admin, etc.) were friendly and able to answer questions.

I liked that some of them had LOTs of folks dressed in their red or orange, etc. school colors. Whereas one school just had one lonely guy (Two Rivers) but he was informative and very good so I didn't mind.

I liked that some of the volunteers gave specific examples of what they liked about their schools.

For next year? I wish they had video monitor with video from actual classrooms. It would have been great to see the kids in action especially since most schools won't allow tours during the day while school is in session.

Good job parent volunteers!

Did you enjoy meeting with? Which could have done a better job? As a parent volunteer I'm wondering what you opinion was of the schools and volunteers and what maybe we as a whole could do better next year.
