Does pet insurance cover dental on cats? That's the only big expense we have. Mature cats by the way. If I recall correctly, pet insurance got more expensive the older the pet. I have never purchased a policy, however.

Is it even worth it to have?

We also have VPI. Execept for last year, we "made back" more than our premium each of the last 6 years. But that probably just means our vet is expensive and over-treats...

We have VPI (www.petinsurance.com).

We have the top-of-the-line plan for both dogs. Costs us about $750 a year, I think?

There's a $100 deductible for visits and well care is not covered (although can buy a rider).

It's come in handy a few times. It doesn't make vet bills disappear but you can mute their pain a bit. And if you get into a major illness or injury, they can save you a bundle. Treating a dog for cancer or a broken leg or something can run into the thousands of dollars.

We are adopting a dog this weekend.
She is 1 year old.
Can anyone recommend which pet insurance we should get?
TIA!
