Just a word of advice, I TTC for 8 months using an ovulation calculator, to no avail. I finally went out and got the ovulation tests, and found out I ovulate a week later than what was on the chart (the most common ovulation date). I got pregnant the same month I used the ovulation tests!

Read taking control of your fertility - the time after ovulation is fixed, but the time before varies - so you may actually ovulate on day 20 not 14 and not realize it - read book and try temping to see

Np here. It means you ovulated later than the typical time frame. This would also cause your period to come later than in months when you ovulated at the regular time. So your period might not actually be "late" this month in the true sense of the word.

Or, you could consistantly just ovulate late in your cycle. I consistantly ovulate late - about 9 days before the start of my period - which is why when I'm pregnant, it takes longer for the pregnancy test to show up as a positive.

My best friend and I have a theory that your body just knows if you want to get pregnant and if you're taking tests and purposely delays your period.

I would retest in a few days though. I never test positive (even on a test done by the hospital when I was in the ER for unrelated reasons) until well after my period is late.

Yes, it is possible, if you ovulate late. I wouldn't go to the doctor yet, but retest in a few days to a week.

Definitely. When I was pregnant with DS, I didn't get a positive test until I was 12 days late (and I took a test every day after my missed period). Doubtful you would have symptoms yet. I would just wait a bit longer and re-test. Good luck

Husband and I are trying to conceive. My period is a week late. I just took a home pregnancy test this morning and it came back negative. I am not getting any cramps, which would be typical of me knowing that my period is coming. I am also not having any pregnancy symptoms, such as throwing up, swollen/tender breast, etc. Basically wanting to know, what could be going on and what should be my next step? Should I wait another week and take another home pregnancy test? Should I go to the doctor and get a blood test? Could I be pregnant? Most likely not? We had sex every day that I was ovulating and I'm in my upper 20's. I am under no stress and it's our second month of trying to conceive. Thank you all
