++ Costco or any grocery store is fine. Some places will do a free 'smash' cake or small bday cake when you order a sheet cake.

Costco.
Best cakes ever and the prices are amazing. You can serve generously and pack for guests to take home as well. We always share with our neighbors as well.

Can't you just make one?

I can recommend lots of good cakes but imo they are not reasonably priced. If your party is a lot of kids, just get a cake from Giant and the kids will be thrilled. If your party is for mostly adults, I'd get a cupcake for my little one and a separate good dessert like a cookie/brownie tray for everyone else. If your party is a mix of adults and kids, you could go with the second suggestion but get a tray of cupcake from giant for the kids.

Creative Cakes in Silver Spring is the only place I go for my daughters cakes.

Does anyone recommend any great, but reasonable bakeries in the Rockville area?
