Interesting. So scores are supposed to be sent out the 14th? I doubt they all go out then. I would assume they would send CogAt or whatever it is now first since those are the kids who most need to meet a deadline. NNAT is mostly 1st graders and there is no rush. I seem to recall some people posting that they didn't get the NNAT scores until February.

The Jan. 15 appeal deadline is for those in grades 3-8 who applied to transfer into AAP for the second half of the school year and were denied in December 2013. These are kids who don't attend FCPS or came into FCPS after the deadline last year.

As for your school's informational meeting, if you're interested in AAP, go to the meeting. It's usually very informative regardless of whether your child is in-pool or you parent-refer. The optional materials are the same either way and you can get some useful ideas from the AART about those.

If you have a second grader, just read the timelines that specifically state 2nd graders. That appears to be appeals to those denied to AAP. Not being in the pool is not being denied.
