I don't have one, nor does my mother. I haven't seen people wearing them like I saw in the 80s, but maybe I just haven't been out as much.

I inherited it and wear it all the time, anywhere but work. Full-length. It's just too cold here to let it sit in the closet. But no, it's not in. You need to have guts to wear fur these days because some people will disapprove.

I have one hanging in my closet that I've never worn; it was a hand me down--it's probably from the 50s or 60s, swing style (label says New Rochelle NY). My kids love to play with it though. I should wear it but I forget it's there.

I am 41 and have my late grandmother's mink - not full length. I have never worn it in public. And I wonder how often my grandmother wore it, considering she lived on the Peninsula in the Bay area.

To answer your question: no, I don't think fur is in.

You might want to scan the obituaries then hit up the estate sales in the chichi neighborhoods. (Not trying to be morbid, but you can't take it with you.)

My MIL has at least one that I'm sure we'll sell when she shuffles off this mortal coil.

My mom has "loaned" her full-length mink to me while she lives in Florida. I will be wearing it tomorrow. I'm 47 and have been wearing it for 10 years, mostly to work or running errands. It's warm, gorgeous and I love it.

I am thinking of buying a full length mink coat. I always felt fur coats were for old ladies, here I am 50 now. Need a treat to make myself better but wondering if it's worth buying a) Buying one or b) get a shorter over the butt version versus to the floor coat. Is fur even in?
