This. You should probably restrict calories AND run the stairs in your building/home for 30 just in case.

Whoa. Anorexic, maybe? It may be news to you, but running is not just for weight loss but for overall fitness.

As a Colorado native who ran there in all sorts of weather, I respectfully submit that 8 degrees in CO feels a lot warmer than it does here. The air is thin and dry there and so the sun makes it feel a helluva lot warmer than our denser more humid air. I will be running at the gym tomorrow morning despite my loathing for treadmills.

I ran 6 tonight. The temp was not a problem, but the wind made it hard. I felt like a badass though. And the post-run shower was excellent!

This may be surprising - but a lot of people don't exercise just to ward off "fat." That's actually a lesser (but perhaps positive) side effect, for lots of other primary intended reasons.

I'm supposed to run tomorrow morning, but I put in an extra run late this afternoon instead. I can deal with the cold, but not the cold + wind.

I'll hit the elliptical at the gym, however.

I recently ran in 8 degree weather (in CO) and it was fine.

OP, what do you consider to be "fairly short?" All of my runs the past several days have been "fairly short"--which for me is 3 or 4 miles.

I have a 1/2 marathon coming up in the next few weeks and REALLY need to get in something a bit longer.

I really want to, but I just don't think it will be possible. I really wish I had a treadmill at home or a gym membership. I might just suck it up and pay the daily use fee at a local gym, but I worry that all the other runners will be there and it will be so crowded I won't be able to get anything done.

Just turned back from a run right now, but I might try again Tuesday night.

I am. A fairly short run, but I'm in.
