Disney cruises have a nursery for kids under 3. I think you can take kids as young as 8 weeks even. I believe that Royal Caribbean has daycare for young kids as well, but I'm not positive on this.

I took my twins on a cruise when they were 13 months and there was lots they could do. They enjoyed the shows at night, they watched for a bit then slept. They loved the splash areas, which you can do with kids in swim diapers. You can't take kids in the pool with swim diapers, that is correct. They also like the various toddler activities and playing in the kids clubs during open house.

On a cruise it is so much easier to deal with your kids, even when they are young, than it is on a typical vacation since everything is so close together. If they need a nap, you are minutes from your room. Need food, it is free and minutes away as well.

I've been researching the exact same question (and even started a thread about this a few weeks ago). I have it narrowed down to a cruise (Disney), Club Med in Punta Cana and Club Med in Florida (Sandpiper).

I looked into this a few years ago with a two-year-old and a baby. The best options I found for childcare under 3 years old were Club Med (Sandpiper in Florida, Ixtapa in Mexico), Franklyn D Resort in Jamaica (every family gets a vacation nanny), and Beaches (Turks & Caicos or Jamaica). We ended up going to FDR in Jamaica and loved it so much we went back again two years later. Not very luxurious, but very family friendly and relaxing. We also went on a cruise when our oldest was 6 months -- not at all the same level of relaxation and no childcare available, but we were with family so we were able to get some babysitting from them.

Most cruises are great for kids 3 and up. Not good for kids under 3 unless you're cool with a vacation centered around their schedule and doing only kid friendly stuff. I don't even think diapers or swim diapers are allowed in the pools, including the kids pools.

Club med is good

Hi, Our son will be 15 months at the time we want to take a vacation. Of course we want to share the experience with him- but would LOVE some down time. Most of the resorts/cruises I am seeing offer great childcare options for 3 and up, so I am turning here for help. We are not looking for all day everyday, but a few hours would be great!
