Neurofeedback is very expensive and there isn't any good research on whether it is effective. I would try the Feingold diet, if you haven't yet.
Can you afford to pay out of pocket or do you need someone in network? What insurance do you have?

Meds are "supposed" to be your "last" resort. So keep researching all other possible options, first.

Subject: recommendations for a psychiatrist to handle adhd meds in VA?
My son is newly diagonsed with ADHD (he is 7) and we are looking at treatment options. I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a good psychiatrist to discuss meds with in the NOVA area? He is primarily impulsive/hyperactive. Any other recommendations for treatment? We are thinking about neurofeedback…but we are new to this and would love any advice from those who have more experience.
