U get 480/hrs per fiscal year respite and other pa hours. Make sure u look into the hipp for kids program if u qualify. It's pays the primary insurance premium.
Home care delivered is the only Medicaid provider for diapers as of jan 1.
Avoid Lacasa and kultural konnecyions for service facilitation.

Yes, you can use Medicaid as your secondary insurance at Children's Hospital (although no longer for mental health, i.e. psychiatry, at Children's). This has been a huge savings to us. Also, don't forget to apply for the HIPP for Kids program, which could help with premium payments for your primary insurance.

There is a separate approval process to figure out how many hours of respite care you would be qualified for. I would contact the person who notified you that your child was approved for EDCD to find out what the next step is. Do you have a service facilitator?

Just posted a question earlier related to Virginia EDCD Waiver and have another question now .

Based on an article I read about EDCD, I applied for the waiver and got the approval for my 6 year of kid who's got kabuki syndrome.

I think that the medicare portion which will serve as the secondary insurance will be a huge benefit since our expenses at DC children's hospital (coinsurance) is extremely high at this point.

Secondly, I heard that we could get respite care? I couldn't find information on how many hours would that be and what activities does it cover. I also read in someone's blog post we could get diapers covered, which is needed since he's still not trained during the night.

Are there other services that we could benefit from? Is there a list to look at? I couldn't find a direct list on their website.
