My Chinese family likes Tony Lin's on Rockville Pike (in the Giant shopping center at the corner of Rockville Pike and Montrose Rd) to be the best Chinese food in the area. We were introduced to it by a family friend who was the Consulate General at the PRC Embassy. The rehearsal dinner for my wedding was a Chinese banquet served at Tony Lin's. And if you really like and understand Chinese food, they have specials on the Chinese only menu that are different from the American menu. You can ask your waiter for any specials.

For Dim Sum, my favorite is New Fortune in Gaithersburg. The very large room with many of the large group round tables. However, it's a bit far out for us so we usually go to Hollywood East in the Wheaton Mall restaurant row, which I find to be better than Oriental East's Dim Sum.

Joe's Noodle House on Rockville Pike, next to Yekta market. Spicy, spicy food from the Sichuan region.

Joes is delicious, I just wish they delivered

OP here. I'm actually asking about the general menu, not about the dim sum. Believe it or not we never made it to oriental east for their dim sum. The lines were always way too long.

A and j is cash only but quite good. I'm not a fan of Joe's. Michael's Noodles is supposed to be good but I've never been.

Yuan fu is also delicious, and vegetarian. Also, chopsticks next to Motis if u want bad kosher Chinese food!

We moved recently from silver spring to Potomac/Rockville and are looking for a good Chinese restaurant. Our standby in silver spring was oriental east. Where should we go for our traditional dinner on Christmas? (We're Jewish). I've heard joe's noodles is really good but the yelp reviews are mixed. Thanks in advance!
