Only if it's joint mail or obvious what it is and something that pertains to both if us (eg car registration or tax bills). Obvious junk gets recycled. He does the same with my mail. Personally addressed things get left for the addressee to open.

Yes, I open his mail. If it is something hand addressed, I give it to him. If it's junk mail, a random credit card statement or something I know is benefits related, I open it. He and I have the same employer so I'm pretty familiar with everything we receive from HR.

I do because she isn't timely on bill paying and will stuff our annual property tax assessment in a file without reviewing it. Anything remotely personal I leave alone.

I don't open anything that has only his name on it. Even if it is clearly junk or a bill that needs to be paid. He opens it all right infront of me in the evenings usually and hands over any important items that need attention.
Even if he doesn't open it infront of me, I don't feel like opening his mail.

pretty much.

My husband would never even get the mail if I didn't. Bills would go unpaid - it would be bad.

I open anything that looks official, like credit card statements and such. Or if we are waiting on a check or something. I leave anything else for him to decide on.

Who gets real mail? I'd be upset if it was a letter or card addressed to me. Don't care about the other stuff, although I guess it would be annoying if he opened my credit card bills (not that I get those in the mail - all digital).

How else are they going to find out if you're cheating. The same spouse probably covertly reads your email, too. But it's for the best.

I don't open anything that looks like 'real' mail. I open/throw away any credit card offers, advertisements, etc.

Not intentionally. Sometimes I'll verify that something is junk before I shred it.

I do, but I'm trying to implement OHIO (only handle it once) for papers in my house. If he told me it bothered him, I'd stop.
