That's right, the Bavarian Chef has two locations: one in Fredericksburg and the other in Madison!

Nothing near Springfield that I am aware of, but here are a couple of possibilities:

Zum Rheingarten in Stafford, VA: http://www.zumrheingarten.com/ This is probably your closest option.

The Bavarian Chef in Madison, VA: http://thebavarianchef.com/madison.html Madison is about 18 miles north of Charlottesville.

There's also Edelweiss in Staunton, VA: http://www.edelweissvirginia.com/ But it's around 2 hours from northern VA.

The German Gourmet is not fancy but they do have some very good platters. I would definitely recommend it for something casual.

I would call the German Gourmet and ask for suggestions.

My family loves German restaurants, but we are tired of schlepping into DC to go to Old Europe, Cafe Berlin or Cafe Mozart. I know Evelyn's, in Burke, closed years ago. Is there any decent German restaurants in Virginia? TIA
