I'm not cooking (MIL always claims big holiday dinners at their house) but if I were, I would do something like a leg of lamb with roasted or au gratin potatoes, honey glazed carrots, and brussels sprouts. Cheese plate to nibble on when everyone gets there, maybe a nice creamy soup (butternut squash is always a hit) as an appetizer, and store-bought desserts (yule log from a bakery?).
