They will, but knowing what a reasonable price for a cord or half a cord won't help you. They will rip you off by giving you poor quality wood (e.g. tulip poplar), or by giving you much less than a cord or a half cord - do you know how much a cord is?

We used to do this also. But then we went out on a Sunday for a drive to visit our child on the Eastern Shore. We loaded up our pick up for $25. Wood is seasoned and great. The guy told us he brings it into the DC region all the time and sells it for multiple times what we paid.
