Where does it say that you can't get on a WL manually?
If it were as simple as calling a school to add yourself to a WL, then why even create a common lottery in the first place? The city is moving to a centralized system and this is part of it. Stop feeling so entitled.
Where the hell do you get entitled from any posts? I'm wondering what to expect. This is new for the city. So if you move to DC after the 2nd round then you call the school directly to get on WL correct?

Your logic is unclear. There will be a round 2 lottery in May but all those names will be added to the end of existing wait lists.
It's going to be hard to break a lot of people's mentality to get on the WL of every school (just in case), even getting on a WL of a school you didn't apply to. 12 spots is not a lot considering most are used to 6 DCPS and unlimited charters.
